STS SERAPHIM & SOPHIA SUMMER CAMPS

Saint Seraphim and Sophia’s Retreats will offer an environment to young women seeking to pursue a life pleasing to God; an environment rich in natural beauty with the fellowship of like-minded souls eager to support one another in their striving to know Christ and His calling to each one. Campers participate in activities that may include: ropes course, volleyball, swimming, music, drama, dance, woodworking/carpentry, iconography cooking, arts and crafts, and animal husbandry. Retreats will be centered around morning and evening prayers with readings during meal times. A service project will be developed and taken into the senior community towards the end of camp. Saint Sophia’s Retreats hope to inspire our youth to return home with a mission: To know, serve and have fellowship in Christ.

Brief History
Legacy camps have been built around a family atmosphere. Billie Roden, Camp Director, and her husband, Robert Roden, own and operate Legacy Woods located in Conyers, Georgia on 27 acres of wooded land. Under the auspices of Saint John The Wonderworker Church (located in Atlanta, Georgia) Legacy Woods has provided camps and group retreats since 2000. During the summers of 2000 to 2002 Saint Seraphim Boys Camp participants built a chapel and two cabins. The labor of the work these young men participated in still stands strong today.

In the summer of 2008 Saint Sophia’s Young Women Retreat put together the first Vintage Fashion and Variety Show. This has become an on going service project touring the senior community from Covington to Powder Springs, Georgia. It is used as a fundraiser for many events and has raised thousands of dollars for our veterans, the cure for cancer, and scholarships for continuing education. Reserve your place today!
