This site is such a beautiful labor of love! Our family has had a special devotion to Vladika John for over a decade now,
and he has helped us in innumerable ways, great and small.
Truly, God is wondrous in His saints!

We are Orthodox Christians. Our nine year old son has progressive bone cancer in his legs and his lungs.
We are at St Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. Fr Troy Mashburn of St John Orthodox Church brought
us some Holy Oil from the vigil lamp of St John Maximovitch. Some parishioners brought us an icon of St John
that has been blessed by his Holy Relics. We bless our son nightly with the oil and the icon is at his bed.
You can visit our son's website at http://welcome.to/jimmypiper.
We ask all to include our son, Jimmy, in their prayers to St John.
Blessed St John Maximovitch intercede and pray for us!!!

Oh those who knew him personally--what a treasure.
Oh fortunte us who still call on his prayers.

Very interesting. Being Roman Catholic, I understand the
depth of feeling that your Priests and other observers
had on opening the coffin of your Saint John.
I, of course, have had these same feelings in some
of our very Holy places.

| At 6:56:42 PM on 10/21/1999, "St, John knew what all of us needed." from Sam Manos |
|
My name is Sam Manos. I meet St. John while reading a biography about him. As i was reading about the miracles he had done alive and reposed i asked him to pray for my entie family, not asking for anything special
because i knew that St, John knew what all of us needed.
My son Tony (12yrs old) had a cyst on his shoulder (size1/2 dollar) disappeared 2 days before surgery. Two weeks later I recieved a cyst on my foot.
I felt that the syst was given to me to remind me of what the Holy Trinity had done for my son through St. John. About six to eight had months passed
since i had received my cyst (size quarter). My doctor insisted that it be surgically removed but i refused. Soon after that i was taking a shower
and realized that the cyst had disappeared. St. John, St. Saraphim of Sarov, and Blessed Father Saraphim Rose have introduced me to many more Saints
who are the family of the Holy Trinity.
I always ask the Saints that i have come to know through readings, Church Services and prayer to pray for me,
my family and others. i never ask for anything because i feel the i really do not know what i need or what others need. only the holy family of God
really knows. I guess the Holy decided that i did not need a cyst on my foot to remember them so it disapeared.
God bless this web site, all who visit it all who maintain it, it's obstacles and it's free reign.

St. John is truly proof that Boniface VIII was a
liar when he said,"We declare, we define that it is
absolutely necessary for salvation to be subject to
the Roman Pontiff.
As a Byzantine Catholic I hold St. John in veneration.
St. John Maximovitch pray for me a sinner!

|
Thank you for a truly soul-edifying page. If you will permit me one humble comment, I am somewhat confused by the music in the background of your home page. Instrumental music is alien to Holy Orthodoxy and is very much out of step with the other truly God-inspired things one can read on your page. Somehow it doesn't go with the life and words of our Blessed Hierarch John. The music you currently play is beautiful, but just as any beautiful religious painting is not a holy icon, so too a beautiful instrumental piece is not an Orthodox way of glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ. There are so many Orthodox chants you might want to consider...
Forgive me for trying to tell you something you already surely know

I was lucky to reach St' John's relics to pray for giving our family a son - so he prayed the Lord to give. Our son - John (Ioann) is already 10 months.

This is the first comment since our page has moved. We
Still hear from all over the world of St. John's
effect in peoples lives. I just received a call today
from a woman who had been diagnosed with cancer who
had a Healing Unction service at one of St. John Shrines
and now has been diagnosed cancer free. Glory be to God.
